365 days of #Grace 2017

Ephesians 3:12 Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence.

One vital aspect of our relationship with God is our boldness and confidence in God’s presence. God doesnt want us to appear fearful and timid before him. Have you ever lacked confidence when praying? Have you ever been timid in declaring what you believe just because you’re not certain if God is with you at that moment? The question then is; why are believers not always bold in God’s presence?

The reason for lack of boldness in God’s presence sterns from spiritual insecurity. When you think that you can loose your salvation; one day you will feel lost and act in fear. When you think the Holy Spirit can leave you; one day you might feel the Holyspirit has left you and you’ll lack confidence. When you believe God loves you because of the righteous things you do; the day you make a mistake, you’ll think God hates you and you’ll inflict yourself with guilt and self condemnation. These and many more are the reasons why believers don’t exude boldness always in God’s presence.

The verse above states emphatically the only reason why we should be bold in God’s presence; ‘Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence’. Because of Christ, our faith in him and his finished work, we can be bold and confident in God’s presence always. Our confidence is not hinged on ourselves and what we do, but on Christ and what he did.

The following are true because of Christ; you can’t lose your salvation, the Holy Spirit will never leave you, God will never stop loving you and you’re accepted not because of what you do. This is the only reason for boldness – because of Christ.

Ephesians 1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

We have been sealed with the Holy Spirit (God’s presence) forever. We don’t fall out of his presence neither does his presence leave us. We are always in his presence and we carry his presence always. No more fear and timidity. Pray and study with confidence. Preach Jesus with boldness. Be conscious of his presence within you everyday. It’s all by faith, not feelings. Even when you don’t feel his presence, just know and believe you’re right before Abba’s presence forever.
